Table 1Intrinsic membrane properties of medial and lateral perforant pathway projection neurons
RMP, resting membrane potential; RN, input resistance; τ, membrane time constant; Sag ratio, voltage deflection at steady-state divided by the peak voltage deflection during large (>10 mV) square hyperpolarizing current injections; Threshold, action potential threshold; AP width, action potential width measured at threshold; AP amplitude, action potential amplitude from threshold; AHP, fast afterhyperpolarization amplitude below threshold; n, number of cells (range). RN and τ were measured using voltage responses (<5 mV) to square hyperpolarizing current injections in the presence of 2>3 mM extracellular CsC1 to avoid activation of voltage-dependent conductances. Values are mean±S.E.M.; P values are derived from unpaired t-tests.
